As the school year comes to a close, UFashion would like to offer all its members and blog-readers a special something that’ll take the edge off all that exam stress. UFashion has teamed up with Sheinside.com to offer 20% off on everything in their online store by entering the code MIS20 at checkout. Not only do you get this awesome discount, but there is free worldwide shipping as well! Does it sound too good to be true? Well, this offer won’t be here for long as it expires on May 15th.

The asymmetric skirt pictured below is just one of the many great items that Sheinside stocks in their online store. UFashion has chosen to showcase this item on our blog as it fits well with the current trend of asymmetric hemlines. This skirt is a playful yet elegant piece that can be worn for the day with a cropped shirt and flat boots that keep the look grounded. However, it’s also perfect for a night out on the town when paired with a simple collared shirt and sky high heels.

Get your very own asymmetric skirt by clicking here, or simply browse sheinside.com for more amazing pieces that you’ll be itching to incorporate into your wardrobe. Happy shopping!

Sponsor Spotlight: Schkank

For the finale of our series ‘Sponsor Spotlight’, we’d like to present Schkank: the custom made evening wear boutique located at 672 Yonge St. Their gowns are inspired by the over-the-top designs of John Galliano and the fabulous looks of the world’s latest ‘it’ girls. This is very evident once you see the drama and glamour embodied in the gowns that were sent down our runway. Pieces from Schkank aren’t for the faint at heart and they’ve also been featured in countless magazines and TV shows such as So You Think You Can Dance and the Miss Universe Pageant.

I hope that you’ll enjoy these last looks from UofT’s Next Top Model 2012, and make sure you return for next year’s show where we’ll be certain to have an equally (if not more) amazing array of sponsors and models lined up for you guys!

Sponsor Spotlight: Over the Rainbow

Over the Rainbow was started in 1975 with a dream to help service the clothing needs of Toronto’s premium-seeking shoppers. Over the past 35 years, the store has won the hearts of loyal customers, offering the most attentive & knowledgeable service from the heart of Yorkville. Over the Rainbow has cultivated a reputation for being the country’s largest independent “denim emporium“, carrying over 30+ brands and enough styles for any fit, shade and style.

Our show displayed a wonderful selection of Over the Rainbow denim that came in a variety of colours, prints, and cuts. Skinny jeans have remained popular since their revival (circa 2008) and below, you’ll see vivid reinterpretations of this flattering fit for men and women. Wide legged jeans have also made a comeback and they look great when paired with a crop top for the summer as pictured below. So no matter what your style is, you’ll be sure to find something that suits you at Over the Rainbow!

Sponsor Spotlight: American Apparel

A company that is as focused on making a difference as it is on making a style statement, American Apparel was founded by Canadian Dov Charney and is now famous for their retro throwback ads, provocative exposés and their amazing hoodies. For our show, UFashion selected a variety of tops and bottoms in shades of brights and pastels to showcase the trends of the season. Colourful skinny jeans  and skirts were paired with equally vibrant tops to create a fun and breezy look that will be perfect for this summer.

Sponsor Spotlight: girl Friday

Avid shoppers have come to rely on girl Friday as a place to indulge in their shopping fantasies! Located at 776 College and 740 Queen St W., both boutiques offer a different selection of merchandise in order to diversify options for us customers. Each item in girl Friday is handpicked by store owner and designer, Rebecca Nixon, to reflect the trends of each season. For spring, UFashion chose to showcase girl Friday’s flirty and colourful dresses as well as versatile separates that span a variety of affordable price points.

Sponsor Spotlight: David Kollar

Born in 2011, Kollar Clothing was started by David Kollar, a student designer whose brand is one that combines unusual details with incomparable fabrics. His approach to design is distinct as clothing becomes an art form rather than a functional piece of fabric. The fit and construction of each piece is also made to flatter in a variety of comfortable textures. With all that Kollar clothing has to offer, guys are sure to appreciate the subtle yet thoughtful take on menswear that this line incorporates.

Sponsor Spotlight: Kali Vintage

The second sponsor that we’ll be showcasing is Kali Vintage! This super cute boutique is located on 2 Kensington Ave. and it stocks some pretty amazing vintage finds. For our show, we let Sandra (the owner) choose some of the most unique pieces for display and you can sense the vivid drama that these capes and blazers embody. If you’re looking for some bright patterns and prints to spice up your wardrobe this spring, this is definitely the place to go.

Anonymous asked: If I want to join this club would I have to be a model?

Of course not! This club is open to all UofT students and it is meant to facilitate a common interest of fashion among us!

Sponsor Spotlight: Leigh & Harlow

Here is the first of a series of posts we’ll be doing to showcase our sponsors from UofT’s Next Top Model. Today’s post features Leigh & Harlow, a men’s and women’s designer clothing boutique located at 634 Queen St and the shops at Don Mills. In case you were wondering, the name is inspired by the glamour and glitz of 1930s Hollywood where legendary actresses such as Vivian Leigh and Jean Harlow were looked upon as fashion icons.

Their beautiful stores are designed by the “Designer Guys” from the hit TV series on HGTV and its vintage feel is a natural complement to their stock of designer denim, clothing, and accessories for both men and women. You won’t be disappointed shopping here as the staff are also friendly and knowledgeable (they picked out all the amazing looks for the show.) Some of the great brands that Leigh & Harlow offer include Mackage, Scotch & Soda, Soia & Kyo, Dolce Vita, and Mink Pink. With such an amazing selection of clothing, make sure you stop by Leigh & Harlow the next time you’re in their neighbourhood!

So without further ado, here are the looks from Leigh & Harlow that our models wore for during our show:
